Buenas Dias,
Okay, where do I start? I am finally starting to relax a little. I had a huge migraine on Tuesday afternoon that scared me! That was a wake up call that I am too stressed about all that I am doing. Now I am trying to put things in a more rational perspective. I don't need to kill myself. I finished my science finals and have turned in may grades so all I need to do at work is clean up my room and check out. That should take a little of the load off. Now I can spend the rest of today completing my Connotea work. Is it me or is it just boring?? I guess I should not say that but I did. I just hate staring at a computer screen for hours on end. I am not programmed to be idle too long.
Did get some feedback on the Kuhn paper yesterday. Glad some is coming in so I can have an idea as to where I am. Always feel I can do better, yeah, just need to relax. Okay, I am going to put my feet up on this computer desk and get back to the Connotea work.

Week 3
Buenas Dias,
Spent the whole Memorial Day Weekend doing course work. I finished my hot topic response, my discussion for the week and found 21 articles for Connotea. Still need to work on that though. Just found them and have not read and described them. It is a huge task and my eyes start crossing after a while. Did have a high schooler come over and show me how to use Connotea, Delicious and Zotero. It amazes me what these kids know. Now if they would just do their homework!!!
I did get a 30 mile bike ride in early Sunday morning and an 8 mile run in yesterday. That is relieving the stress some and is keeping me sane. I love a good workout. I have quite a few errands to do today as I did not leave the house besides working out this weekend and meeting my cohorts. So today it is; administering final exams, grading tests, errands, gym and then meeting with my cohorts to work. We keep each other going.
Okay, first exam is starting.
Adios

End of Week 2
Hi,
I am still at a very high stress level. Last night was the first night I have slept in 3. I still spent all of my dream time on computers and these classes. I feel like I am drowning. Finally did get the book for LIS2600 and I received 2. Go figure that one but I will see if anyone wants to buy it in the VI and if not I will send it back. I am reading articles, 3 books and trying to catch up on all the webcasts and podcasts this weekend. Some Memorial Day weekend. I guess I will remember this one!
It is so hot outside. The wind is blowing from the SE and bringing the dust from the Sahara desert. This is bad for all the coral as the dust from the Sahara smothers it. Also a couple summers ago the wind was like this for months and lots of coral bleaching went on. Hope it goes back to the NE soon. Yeah, I am rambling but these things concern me. Also, it has not rained in weeks and my yard is parched. I am doing laundry right now so the water used there will also water my plants. We only get our water from our cistern so no rain means no water but the cistern is huge and we have not run out of water yet. Enough.
Later,
Sara

I'm Melting
Okay, here was my evening. I finished my paper on Kuhn and was meeting some of the other cohorts at the UVI library. As I was approaching one of the cohorts told me that our paper was to be 500 words and it was due by noon on Wednesday. Of course I started freaking out because according to the syllabus it was supposed to be 250 words and was due by noon on Thursday. Well, the intestines were churning. No, I did not have to go to the bathroom but thought about it!!!! Anyway, I felt like a deer caught in the headlights. After breathing deeply for 20 minutes I was able to think coherently and decided to send my paper as I followed the syllabus. GOD, there is so much to do that this is all I think and dream about. No, they are not sweet dreams. Back to work.

PS I have not seen the Daily Show or the Colbert Report since this started and I know Keith Olberman is missing me!!!

LIS 2600 Technology!
Hello,
Today is my first real blog for LIS 2600. I spent most of the weekend reading The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, reading reviews of it, watching 2 podcasts and a lecture (which took twice as long because my computer kept buffering every 10 seconds or so). I also met with my cohorts at the UVI library to make sure we are all understanding what is expected of us. I am getting pretty comfortable with CourseWeb and can work my way around it. I just don't feel very organized and for being such and anal person it is stressful. I need to go out and get one of those calendars that are have huge spaces for each date so I can fill in what is needed each day. I still have not received my book for this class but it was shipped last Thursday so I expect it to arrive this week. Maybe that is wishful thinking becasue things seem to get lost on the way to the VI. I am still waiting for a sport watch I bought a month ago! Once I get the book I can catch up on the reading. Okay, that is it for today. Have a good one!
